Julia became involved in Musical Theatre at the age of 10 and fell in love with it. She started taking voice lessons when she was 14 and began winning awards for her performances of classical repertoire, she has received over 15 superior ratings at classical vocal festivals. When she was 16 she was invited to be the lead female vocalist for the Utah National Guard Jazz Band and love singing with them at professional gigs. While she has excelled in both classical and jazz vocal styles, her true love lies with Musical Theatre. Some of her favorite roles include: Wendy in Peter Pan, Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Jane in Tarzan and Emily in A Christmas Carol. In addition to these lead roles, Julia has performed in many ensembles being featured in step out vocal, acting and dancing roles at local community and professional theatre companies. After graduating from Davis High School, Julia began pursuing a degree at the University of Utah in their Musical Theatre Program. After she graduates in 2022, her and her husband plan to pursue their careers in performance. Julia has been teaching private voice since 2016 and was hired by Showstoppers in 2018. Her students have played many leading roles such as Cinderella, Shrek, Fiona, Gingy, Pinocchio, Ariel, Eric, Matilda, Miss Honey, Mrs. Wormwood, Sharpay and many more. Julia caters her teaching to each individual student based on their goals and abilities. She teaches her students to sing many different vocal styles, as well as basic music reading, pedagogical terms, and acting essentials for successful auditions. Julia loves teaching and finds great pride in seeing her students grow in their abilities and confidence!
